Matanzas Harbour is a quiet body of water protected by Estero Island. It is home to long stretches of sailboats and shrimping boats. At low tide, the mudflats and oyster beds come to life with rosette spoonbills and other beautiful wading birds. While the northwest harbor entrance is full of lively waterfront restaurants, the section pictured here features the quieter section of the harbor with peaceful residences on one side and mangroves on the other.
